TALENT PASSEPORT - professional Visa to France

The Talent Passport is initially part of a process to develop French Tech, the French startup movement. It facilitates the installation procedures for international talents, whether employees or non-employees.
In order to support and accompany this movement in France, the government set up the French Tech mission in 2017. It pilots the French Tech initiative and sets up startup support programs to encourage the development of Tech in France and make it a center of excellence.
The Talent Passport system allowing foreign "talents" (employees, entrepreneurs or international investors) to settle in France while benefiting from a multi-year residence permit, is part of this framework.
This is a residence permit valid for up to 4 years, and is renewable. It is issued without any diploma requirement and extended to the beneficiary's family (married spouse and minor children). Welcome to France presents the advantages of the Talent Passport in its FAQ.
In order to facilitate the recruitment of "international tech talent", the French Tech visa was launched in 2017. This is a procedure that facilitates the steps to obtain a visa from the consulate and then, once arrived in France, a multi-year residence permit Talent Passport for 3 categories of "Tech talent":
French Tech Visa for Founders for international startup founders, selected by partner incubators and accelerators;
French Tech Visa for Employees for international talent recruited by companies based in France and recognized as innovative by the Ministry of the Economy;
French Tech Visa for Investors for international investors who are setting up in France.

When the file must include a certificate on the real and serious nature of a business creation project or on the innovative nature of a company, applications can be made through the dedicated platform demarches-simplifiées.fr:
- Talent passport with the mention "business creation":
Request for a certificate recognizing the real and serious nature of a business creation project
- Talent passport with the mention "Employee of an innovative company":
Request for a certificate recognizing the innovative nature of your company (the request must be made by the employer)

Request for a letter of recognition of an investment project.
